Google Cloud Certification β How to Register & Take the Exam
13 Google Cloud certifications. Pearson VUE via CM Connect (migrated from Kryterion in early 2026). $99/$125/$200 tiers.
2026 transition: Google Cloud migrated from Kryterion / Webassessor to Pearson VUE in early 2026. No exams could be scheduled between Feb 23 β Mar 1, 2026. Pearson scheduling opened Feb 26, 2026 and the first delivery date was Mar 2, 2026. The information below reflects the new Pearson-based flow.
All Google Cloud certifications share the same registration process via Google Cloud's credential manager, CM Connect, which provisions a Pearson VUE candidate for you.
1. Registration process
Sign in to CM Connect (Google Cloud's credential manager) via cloud.google.com/learn/certification β Register.
You do not create a separate Pearson account β CM Connect provisions one for you.
Choose the exam, choose delivery mode (online or test center), schedule via Pearson VUE, and pay.
2. Delivery options
Online proctored (Pearson VUE OnVUE): 24/7 in most regions; standard OnVUE hardware/room requirements.
In-person test center: Pearson VUE worldwide.
ID: one government-issued photo ID matching the name on your CM Connect profile.
3. Exam fees (USD, before tax)
Foundational (Cloud Digital Leader, Generative AI Leader): $99
Associate (Associate Cloud Engineer, Associate Google Workspace Administrator, Associate Data Practitioner): $125
Professional (all 8 Professional exams): $200
4. Scheduling
Schedule any time after registration. Lead times generally 1β7 days.
Reschedule/cancel up to 24 hours before. Within 24 hours = forfeit.
Most Google Cloud exams are multiple choice + multiple select, English only (some translated). Professional Cloud Architect and Professional Cloud Network Engineer include case studies that you can review beforehand on the cloud.google.com cert page.
No personal items, no scratch paper online; test centers provide a note board.
No scheduled breaks; unscheduled breaks online keep the timer running.
6. Results
Provisional pass/fail shown on screen at exam end. Official confirmation by email within 7β10 business days along with the digital badge from Credly.
Google Cloud does not publish numeric scores. Failures only see broad section feedback.
7. Retake policy
1st retake: 14 days after the failed attempt.
2nd retake: 60 days after the failed attempt.
3rd retake: 365 days after the failed attempt.
Full fee per attempt.
8. Validity
Foundational and Associate certifications: valid 3 years.
Professional certifications: valid 2 years.
Recertify by re-passing the current version of the exam (a recert exam previously offered for some tracks has been retired).
